CURRICULUM VITAE

I am an NCTJ and first-class BA (Hons) Journalism graduate eager to put my multimedia storytelling skills to good use at your media organisation. Possessing a creative flair and thirst for a good story, I come equipped with a wide range of experience, from television to local, national and B2B print titles. Outgoing and dependable, I enjoy working with people and can be relied upon to always enter the workplace with a smile and can-do attitude.

FEATURES INTERN - HELLO! MAGAZINE

January 2020 - Sept 2020

In this role I was responsible for pitching feature ideas and creating content that would appear online and weekly in HELLO! Magazine. This position enabled me to further develop key writing, interviewing and newsgathering skills whilst demonstrating my ability to meet tight deadlines and produce accurate, clean and engaging copy to house tone and style. The job was initially a six-month placement, which was extended after impressing my editors.

DIGITAL VIDEO INTERN - BBC SOUTH NEWS

June and September 2018

I was invited back for a second week at BBC South news after initially impressing on a prior placement in June. For my second week I was tasked with producing a video for the digital video unit aimed at an online, female audience. I produced a video about Alopecia and re-edited a piece for online called 'theme park therapy' which previously ran on the BBC South Today news programme. Both videos made the front page of the national BBC news website and were the most viewed videos that day. The videos were also shared on the national and regional BBC Instagram and Facebook page.

DIGITAL CONTENT INTERN - HEARST MAGAZINES

Working at Hearst's digital content studio, I supported the team by producing content for their online sites: ELLE, Red, Cosmopolitan, Harper's Bazaar and Esquire. This role involved article research, image sourcing, finding experts and influencers for articles and liaising with PR contacts for product approval.

August 2018

EDITORIAL INTERN - MEN'S HEALTH MAGAZINE

Highlights of my time at Men’s Health include writing copy for the November Issue (2017), extensive sub-editing and transcribing interviews from their Mental Health forum #MendtheGap campaign. I also provided research for features and performed other administrative tasks.

July 2017

EDITORIAL INTERN - COINSLOT MAGAZINE (B2B)

During Easter 2017, I arranged and completed a placement at GB Media in their editorial department. I was responsible for contributing print stories, finding appropriate images for articles and sourcing online content for their three B2B gambling and gaming magazines.

April 2017

COMMUNITY CORRESPONDENT - BRIGHTON ARGUS NEWSPAPER

Whilst working towards my NCTJ qualification I contributed stories to Brighton’s local newspaper. Covering the Brighton Marathon and General Election 2015, I also landed a double page spread for my story on Brighton’s Open-Air Theatre.
